It is with sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Henk Denie at Circle Drive Special Care Home. We rejoice in knowing he is with his Lord and Saviour. Henk was predeceased by his parents Bartholomeus and Johanna Denie, his brothers Wim and Bart and his oldest son John. He is survived by Ali, his loving wife of nearly 65 years, his son Bruce (Pauline) Denie, daughter Anita (Fred) Friesen, son Carl (Valerie) Denie, daughter-in-law Lorraine Denie (Ken Melnychuk), 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Henk was born in Zwolle, Holland, immigrated to Canada in 1949. Henk met Ali who became the love of his life in Winnipeg. They were married in Saskatoon in 1951. Together they made their home and raised 4 children in Saskatoon where he worked at McGavin’s until his retirement in 1987. He was a faithful member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church, enjoyed camping and gathering with friends and family. Family activities were always the most important to him. His last 4 months were spent at CDSCH where he received excellent and loving care by the wonderful staff. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday July 25, 2016 at Bethel Christian Reformed Church (corner of Highway 11 and Road 381(Clark’s Crossing Road) about 5 minutes north of the Saskatoon city limits). Memorial donations may be made to the Saskatoon Christian School, Site 510, Box 8, RR5 Saskatoon SK S7K 3J8 or a charity of donor’s choice.
