Helen went to be with her savior on Wednesday, March 23, 2016. She was born to Abram and Anna (Dyck) Braun on July 3, 1917 at Blumenthal SK. Helen married Frank Janzen on June 30, 1935 in Blumenthal. In 1942 they moved to the Danbury district where she excelled in gardening. She creatively and lovingly provided for her growing family from the garden which through much hard work made feeding a family of nine children possible. In time the grandchildren came along; they loved visiting, enjoying her delicious meals served with love. Helen spent many hours knitting mittens for them. It gave her great pleasure when they with excitement picked out the pair best suited for them when she would dump them on the floor in the middle of the room at Christmas. It was very important to her that each on put their trust in Jesus; the centre of her faith which she shared freely. After Frank’s passing in 1990 she courageously lived on her own. Within a few years after her 90th birthday she wrote a book, along with her granddaughter Anita (Janzen) Flegg titled, “My First Ninety Years”. Her health began to fail in the summer of 2015 at which time she moved into assisted living at Bethany Manor. In a few short months it became evident that she needed more care and moved into Porteous Lodge where she resided until her passing on march 23, 2016. She leaves to mourn four sons; Abe (Edna), John (Martha), Peter (Sharon), Niel (Mary); two daughters; Tina Friesen, Sarah (Frank) Friesen; two daughters in law, Violet (Dave) Nehring, Margaretha Janzen; thirty seven grandchildren, and numerous great and great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Frank Janzen; two sons, George and Willie; one daughter, Ann; son-in-law Aron Friesen; three grandchildren, Barbara Friesen, Brandice Janzen, Cameron Janzen; one grandson-in-law, Abe Braun. Mother is waiting for all her family and friends to someday join her in the mansions of glory. Her way of expressing this was in these words, “I want all my loved ones to go where I am going.” Public viewing for family and friends will be on Monday, March 28, 2016 at 7:00PM at Dalmeny Funeral Home, 139 3rd Street Dalmeny, SK.
