Born April 18, 1944 passed away after a brief battle with cancer on Wednesday March 2, 2016 at St. Paul’s Hospital, Palliative Care. Dad was born in Saskatoon and raised on the family farm in Langham, SK. His love of vehicles began with driving the farm trucks and tractors. He attended Neuhoffnung School and would share many happy memories from those years. Dad married Hella (Wiens) and together they had five daughters; Wendy, Lori, Richelle, Lisa and Lavonne. They also had a son, Curtis, who passed away after only a short time on earth and his passing was something that Dad struggled with until the end. Dad married Henriette (Wall) in November, 2002 and from then on they were inseparable. They spent their days going on long drives, listening to music, talking and enjoying life. He drove truck for Shelley Western and Canada Concrete Lafarge until he retired in June, 2009. Dad was a kind man and made many friends over the years, some of whom who were with him until his final hours. Dad loved music and visiting and attending auctions, watching his brother Richard and later his nephew Keith at Mierau Auction Service. Dad was baptized upon confirmation of faith at Zoar Mennonite Church in 1982. Dad leaves to mourn; his loving wife Henriette, his daughter Wendy (Grant) Richards and son Jon Stevenson; Lori Mierau (John Neufeld) and children Brooklyn, Bishop and Nick; Richelle Patterson (Trent) and their children Jayden, Kayse and Kylen; Lisa Makelki and her children Austin, Larissa and Hannah; Lavonne (Drew) Graham and their children Ashton and Skylar; stepdaughter Pam (Cliff) Blum, children Steven (Olivia) Blum, Candace (Mike) Roth, Ryan; and son-in-law Paul (Laurie) Milnes, and children Scott (Emily) Milnes, Stephanie (Kevin) Collins, great grandchildren, Kari, Joel, Beth, Noah, Warren, Nathan; Levi, Asher and Claire. He also leaves his brother Richard (Helen) Mierau, and their children, Anita, Keith and families. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Tena Mierau, son Curtis, son-in-law Don Makelki and stepdaughter Sheri Milnes.
