Eugene passed away peacefully at the Parkridge Centre at the age of 82. He was born on November 25, 1933 at Kindersley SK. the second child of Alvin and Agnes (Heise) Baker He grew up in Kindersley where he completed his high school education. He then moved to Saskatoon and attended the College of Commerce at the U of S. He returned to Kindersley where he owned and operated his own Construction Company. Eugene also farmed the family homestead for several years. While he struggled with Mental Illness for many years, he had a great memory and was the family go to for family history and had a kind heart and compassion for people. He loved children and young people and was always willing to assist them with shaping their lives. He was awarded the Medal of Bravery and recognized by the Carnegie Foundation in 1983 for his heroic feat in helping save a Saskatoon Citizen from drowning in the South Saskatchewan River. Eugene was predeceased by his parents, sister Elinor Yandel, infant daughter Nora Colleen Baker, sister-in-law Rhoda Baker, and nephew Dean Baker. He is survived by his sons, Brad and Kirk (Sandy); grandchildren Jesse, Keith, Heather, Jennifer, and several great grandchildren. Siblings, Weston Baker, Leona Eyolfson, Russell (Barb) Baker, Betty (Brian) Walrath and many nieces and nephews. Thank you to the staff at the Parkridge Centre for the excellent care they provided.
